You get a written quote
The scope, the price and the terms are in one document. Somebody other than the person who wrote it checks it before it reaches you. Every version is kept, so you can see what changed and when.
You decide
Accept it, ask for a change, or walk away. Nothing starts, and nothing is billed, until you have accepted a quote you have read.
