A quote with a scope in it
Work is agreed in a quote. It states what is being done, what it costs and what it does not include.
Approved here before it reaches you
Somebody other than the person who wrote a quote checks and approves it before it is sent.
You accept a version, not a conversation
Every change produces a new version and the earlier ones are kept. The version you accepted is the one that binds both of us.
Nothing starts until you accept
No work begins and nothing is billed on the strength of a call. Where a deposit is agreed, work starts once it has been received.
Fixed price or time and materials
The quote says which of the two it is, and a time-and-materials rate is agreed in writing before any of it is worked.
Sales tax is stated per rate
Where it applies, it is shown at the rate that applies to each line rather than blended into the total, on the quote and on the invoice alike.
Invoices follow what you accepted
We raise an invoice against an accepted quote, and it carries that quote's own figures. It states its own dates and the terms that follow from them.
A correction is a new invoice
If an invoice is wrong we void it and replace it, so what you hold and what we hold always say the same thing.
Bank details

You own what we build for you, and it is yours to take elsewhere. Where a piece of work includes something we did not write, such as a library or a service you subscribe to, the quote says so and says what it costs to keep using it.
Confidentiality, limits of liability and how either of us ends an engagement are settled in the agreement that goes with your quote, not here. Those are the clauses that matter when something goes wrong. A summary of them written for a website would be the version nobody should rely on.
